Monica Lawry, M.D.

Monica Lawry, MD is a board-certified dermatologist with over 20 years of experience in the field of dermatology in private practice, group practices, and as an assistant professor and residency director in the UC Davis Dermatology Department. She had three years of undergraduate education at University of Virginia as a Chemistry major and completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed medical school with honors at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Continuing her training and education, Dr. Lawry completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Brown University and a dermatology residency, acting as chief resident, at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She then went on to study advanced dermatology and nail diseases and treatments during a mentorship at the Duesseldorf University in Germany.
Her areas of interest include skin cancer prevention and treatment, medical and surgical dermatology, and positive aging with selected cosmetic procedures. Dr. Lawry’s patients appreciate her knowledge and her taking the time to explain and discuss treatment plans with them.
Dr. Lawry is a member of multiple professional organizations and has lectured extensively at meetings and symposiums. She is the author of several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.

In her spare time, Dr. Lawry enjoys spending time mountain biking, dressage, and trail riding her horse.
