Dr. Kary Duncan is a co-author of Dermatology Essentials, a leading Dermatology textbook

Dr. Kary Duncan, founder of Duncan Dermatology in 2003, is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  She completed a residency and was selected as a chief medical resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  She then went on to complete a residency in Dermatology and was again chosen as a chief medical resident at Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to moving to the Napa Valley in 2002, Dr. Duncan was on faculty at the University of Colorado in both the departments of Internal Medicine and Dermatology, and she also served as the Assistant Chief of Medicine at the University of Colorado Hospital.


Dr. Duncan is board certified both in Internal Medicine and Dermatology and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD).  She remains active in the world of academic dermatology as a member of the test writing committee for the American Board of Dermatology and as an author of various publications, including co-author of Dermatology Essentials, a leading Dermatology textbook.  She has received numerous awards, including “Best Doctors in America” and “The Bay Area’s Top Doctors Award.” 


With her combined training in internal medicine and dermatology, Dr. Duncan focuses on medical dermatology in her practice and she is skilled at treating complex problems, such as autoimmune blistering diseases, cutaneous lupus, and severe acne, eczema and psoriasis.  She is also passionate about the early diagnosis and management of skin cancer, particularly melanoma, and she loves taking care of patients with numerous moles and atypical moles! 


Passionate about providing access to quality health care in her Napa Valley community, Dr. Duncan has served on the board of directors for OLE Health, a non-profit federally qualified health center (FQHC) that serves one in four residents in the Napa Valley, for ten years, one as Chairperson. Along with her husband, David Duncan of Silver Oak Cellars, Dr. Duncan co-chaired Auction Napa Valley (2014), which supports local health initiatives, and is an ardent supporter of the St. Helena Hospital foundation, establishing the “Kary and David Duncan Endowed Chair for Medical Innovation” in 2016.


At home in St. Helena, Dr. Duncan enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and being an active supporter of the family’s wine business. As a recent cancer survivor, she is thankful for her many blessings and is determined to “channel my health issues into hope for others.” By participating in the St. Helena Hospital’s Hereditary Cancer Consortium, she will do just that for the community she loves.

Carlos Wolf, MD

Plastic surgery expert Dr. Carlos Wolf regularly visits Duncan Dermatology to administer injectables. 


A partner at Miami Plastic Surgery with more than thirty years-experience, Dr. Wolf received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed a residency in Head/Neck surgery at Tulane University in New Orleans. He then completed his fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.


He is board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery. 


Dr. Wolf’s patients always feel at home and confident in his care. They consistently refer their closest family and friends to him with the assurance that he will achieve extraordinary, yet natural and unique, results. Within the injectables community, Dr. Wolf is recognized as a Master Practitioner by companies including Galderma and ALLERGAN. While his skills are second-nature to him, Dr.  Wolf continues to acquire new techniques and skills that allow him to achieve the best results for each patient he sees.


He is also a regular guest on South Florida television and radio. An acclaimed author, Dr. Wolf writes a popular column for The Miami Herald and a blog for AnaCanseco.com blog in Spanish. He volunteers his medical services to victims of domestic violence.


Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Dr. Wolf is equally at home in Spanish and English. 

Lisa Aldrich, BSN, MSN, APRN

A practicing nurse since 1986, Lisa’s nursing career began in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, where she worked for five years before transferring to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus. After nearly 20 years as an RN, she decided to specialize in dermatology and pursued a Master of Science degree in nursing from Yale University in 2005.

Lisa performs total body skin exams, skin biopsies, and minor surgical procedures to treat many diseases of the skin, hair and nails. She also uses the excimer laser for conditions such as vitiligo and psoriasis and the Aerolase LightPod Neo® laser for acne, skin rejuvenation, hair removal, small veins and hyperpigmentation.


Lisa loves her profession and has a passion for providing the best possible care while educating patients with a friendly approach that puts people at ease. She has been an active member of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association since 2003 and is a past president of the Northern California DNA Chapter. She is also a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician’s Assistants.


Originally from Madison, Connecticut, Lisa relocated to Napa in 2007. She and her husband have a small home vineyard and enjoy making wine with friends.

Catherine Lenz, Physician Assistant (PA-C)

A board-certified Physician Assistant with more than 18 years experience, Catherine Lenz is a skin cancer specialist and performs skin biopsies and surgical dermatology procedures to treat many diseases of skin, hair, and nails in patients of all ages. 


After getting her start in medicine as an operating room Scrub Tech, Catherine knew she wanted to pursue dermatology when she could not put down a book on skin diseases. As a Physician Assistant, she has exceptional skills in cosmetic dermatology procedures such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, including its use for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and the use of facial fillers and newly launched Kybella® for unwanted “double chin” (submental fullness). She has many years of experience performing procedures that include: scar resurfacing, skin rejuvenation, chemical peels, microneedling, tattoo removal, laser vein treatments for the face, sclerotherapy for unwanted leg veins, dark spot correction and laser hair removal.


Throughout her career, Catherine has focused on treating the “whole person,” not just the disease. She believes in a traditional approach to medicine, in which caregivers listen to patients and deliver high-quality care with respect and compassion.

A graduate of the University of California, Davis, Catherine is a diplomat of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistant. She has two grown children and enjoys cycling, gardening, cooking, beekeeping, and running with her toy Aussie, “Sangi,” in St. Helena and Fair Oaks, California.



Liz Shepherd, Skin Care Therapist

With fifteen years experience in the skincare field, Liz uses the latest techniques, therapies and treatments to help her patients look and feel their personal best.


A teenage sufferer of acne, Liz’s self-consciousness about her skin ignited her passion to pursue a career as an aesthetician. Liz is certified in Microdermabrasion, Revitalite Advanced Light Technology, Ultra Sonic Skin Care Scrubber, Chemical Peeling, and MicroCurrent, and frequently enhances her skills with educational workshops at some of the nation’s top skin institutes. At Duncan Dermatology she is focused on results-driven treatments and offers acne facials, medical facials, anti-aging facials, chemical peels and HydraFacial® MD.


In her spare time Liz attends spin classes, travels and enjoys spending time with husband and “fur children” Bear, Lucky, and Eli.

Tasha Abri, Skin Care Therapist

With over ten years experience in the skincare field, Tasha focuses on the latest in medical aesthetic techniques, treatments, and therapies, with a desire to help her patients look and feel their best. 

Having grown up around the medical aesthetic world, Tasha was interested in skin care from a young age.  Certified in Chemical Peels and MicroDermabrasion, Tasha enjoys furthering her expertise through educational workshops.  As a results-driven skin therapist she is focusing on the Medical Facials offered at Duncan Dermatology, HydraFacialMD, Chemical Peels, and MicroCurrent.  She enjoys the intricacies each patient brings and is excited to educate patients on the importance of the health and care of their skin. 


In her free time, Tasha enjoys time with her husband, three children, and their dog.  They love trips to Tahoe and traditional Persian family dinners.
